Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents in honor of the town in which she grew in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father and mother are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder as well as her entire family relocated to Mendocino, California, when Ryder was just seven. The family resided in an area without electricity. Ryder was a consummate reader and spent her time studying books since there was no TV. Ryder started taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged 12 years old. In 1986, she got her first major-screen appearance in the movie Lucas she was only fifteen years old. Ryder was bullied in high school. Her professional acting, she believed that it would aid her. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. However, she was determined to pursue her goals. Beetlejuice, a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major breakthrough. Ryder played parts that proved successful in a variety of films. In 1993, Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards.
